Real moms take Gisele to task for glam 'multitasking' photo
Wed Dec 11, 2013
"Real" moms? Last I checked, models, no matter how super, aren't robots. I can see why people might take Gisele's post as boastful about her life (that's how I percieve it as well), but that doesn't make her a horrible mother.
NYC restaurant dishes up silent treatment

I don't think I could do that. For me, going out to eat is about socializing. This would just feel awkward.
Feds: Employers can't force payroll debit cards on workers
Wed Oct 2, 2013
In reply to: cgtrav #24 If the employee has a bank account, the employer can offer direct deposit into that account. As to whether or not the payroll card provider would charge a fee to transfer funds, it would be in the ridiculously confusing terms and conditions. As far as I know, I don't thi …

Top baby names of 2012: Aiden, Sophia get competition from Betty White and 'Fifty Shades'
Thu Nov 29, 2012
I have not (nor do I care to) read "Fifty Shades of Grey", but my understanding of it is that the title character is a sadistic misogynist. Why would anyone want to name their child after that?

Also, be a parent and insist on having access to your child's social media. Become familiar with how things like Facebook work. Social networking is not a right, it's …
Miss Manners on sentiments in the digital age: Never email the words 'sorry your mom died'
Sun Oct 7, 2012
I fully agree that when a close friend or relative gives a present, one should respond with a physical card or note rather than an email or e-card. However, as a person with horrific penmanship, writing a legible letter is difficult. I see nothing wrong with typing a letter and manually signing it, …
Bic pens 'for her' unite women and men in snarky Amazon reviews
Tue Aug 28, 2012
Bic for Her is just a ridiculous marketing ploy. I think the snarkiness is hilarious, and frankly, well deserved. It's okay to take a break from being serious. In fact, it will help you live longer.

"It's not illegal! I looked it up!" What a knuckle head.
Are gender-neutral toys much ado about nothing?
Mon Aug 13, 2012
My daughters play with dolls and dinosaurs and cars and play jewelry. My son is obsessed with cars and Iron Man. He will occasionally be daddy to one of his sister's dolls and sets up tea parties with his sisters (or toys, if the girls are at school), but he is drawn to his cars and action figures m …
